The particular feature essential on plasma TV stands is a shelf or bracket on which the television can be mounted.  Any other features such as multiple shelves and CD racks are purely optional.Make sure that you check the stand's specifications so that you can see which makes and models of TV the stand is suitable for supporting.If you are at all unsure then it is always worth asking a representative of the shop who should be able to advise you.For stands that have mounts check if it features a universal bracket that can fit a specific TV.
