The only downside to the RFG297 so far is the small ice bin, which I can live with.

If you are on day 1, then I have a couple things to say....think hard about the unit you just bought. I bought the quattro thinking it was cool to have 4 seperate compartments...after a year, I realized that the 4 zomes were useless. I would never change the zones. We ended up getting the newer french door model RFG297AARS/XXA. My wife loves is more that the quattro. Much more room with the same footprint. Our model has 29cuft ! it's massive. everything works as advertized.

Thankfully we are only on day 1, so hopefully we can get this figured out or have it replaced. Appliance issues are so frusturating! Can I ask if you replaced the frig for another side by side? It seems like it is mostly side by sides that have this issue. Thanks for sharing your experience and posting the video.

It was a long long road, but I finally got Samsung to replace the entire refrigerator. I was still within the 1 year warranty so they took it back. I hope you are within the warranty. They replaced the whole ice unit every piece and it didn't fix it. I'm not sure what was wrong. If you are still under warranty, you have to have the repair people replace something...anyting...each time they come. on the 3rd or 4th time they will just replace the whole unit.
